One of the most beautiful cities I have ever been.
One of the most beautiful cities I have ever been. Very alive city, everybody is out having fun! Nice restaurants and food everywhere. The city is very quiet and clean, this is impressive. The city center has nice old buildings and churches and big pedestrian areas. It is also one of safest cities I have ever been. Very close you can find beatiful villages and cities with big history and nice medieval old town like Aviles. Driving in Spain is safe and nice experience.

A beautiful little city with enough to see in a long weekend. Lots of places to eat and drink. If you want to cater for your own food there are plenty of medium sized supermarkets and one large one. The old quarter is particularly pretty. Visited on Ascension weekend - 10-13 May 2024 - with lots going on: lots food huts in the centre selling the local cheese, and other local food produce. Excellent local marching bands and a large craft fair.

Lovely city full of life!
Lovely city full of life! Clean, safe, amazing restaurants, cafes, bakeries.
Great visits to the art museum (free!) and Cathedral (fee with a guide via QR code on your phone).
Just walking around the city gives good vibes.
Also a very big mall with food court in case you want to shop (or kill time on rainy days.)
Surrounding villages on the coast have amazing views and crazy high waves that crash into the cliffs.

The cleanest, friendliest city in Spain.
The cleanest, friendliest city in Spain. I have never seen so many council workers sweeping a city before, incredibly clean. A must visit for everyone. The architecture is incredible, old & new together but not clashing. Museums, art, history and great cafe/bars etc all within walking distance, no taxis required.

This is quite a large city with wide boulevards and modern business and shopping areas with a beautiful old centre at its core.
Good road and rail links for arrival and onward travel.
Old town and Cathedral are lovely areas to explore on foot. Excellent choice of restaurants and bars- traditional Spanish but also Italian / mediterranean cusine and some catering for vegetarians/vegans. Plenty of historic buildings and gallery and museums to visit.
Best experience- seeing a wedding party arrive and enter the Cathedral on Saturday morning- with traditional dress and musicians playing pipes and drums.
Sitting in the sunshine at a cafe watching the spectacle unfold. Followed by a late lunch in a cobbled, inner courtyard restaurant ,nearby. Perfect!

Interesting city with a beautiful large well maintained park...
Interesting city with a beautiful large well maintained park in the center. Excellent shopping areas and pleanty of good places to eat. Interesting Sideria (cider) restaurants who have a novel way to pour the cider.
What did we like? EVERYTHING!! The flat is adorable, the location is central and perfect for visiting the City, the "equipped" kitchen? Well, I travel with a chef who kept saying, "I can make anything in this kitchen!" So, yes... we ate well. The bed is super comfortable, with big fluffly towels and a host(ess) and her daughter that made us feel immediately like we were long-term friends.
This accommodation and the host are easily a highlight of our month long travels through Spain.
The apartment was very clean and well prepared for our stay, there was lots of hot water in the kitchen and bathroom and there was access to Netflix, The cleaning lady is exceptionally helpful. I suggest for longer term stays that an explanation of the rubbish disposal be explained. Perhaps a card left in the apartment to explain might be useful Oviedo is a beautiful city but it has a rubbish collection system like no other I have come across in Spain,
We enjoyed our stay at the apartment of Carlos. The communication was very smooth and Carlos is a very welcoming host. The apartment is cosy and comfortable, we had everything we needed. The views are very nice ! The location is great, 10 minutes walk to the city center of Oviedo and parking is easy. Really recommended and we will be back!
After we arrived, we read a quote from Woody Allen about Oviedo and he summed it up brilliantly. Look it up! Oviedo is such a great surprise - it's small but packed with treasures, highly pedestrianized, clean, friendly, historic, lively....and we were blown away by the value for money of our hotel, with the most incredible view...
A comfortable hotel on a quiet street and in an ideal location walking all around Oviedo. There is a taxi stand just outside the front door of the hotel. Friendly, helpful hotel staff which is now combined with that of the Munia across the street.
Excellent hotel, in a perfect location. The room (superior) is really comfortable and fantastic. The staff is really helpful and nice. No doubt in my future choice if I go back to Oviedo, will Be NH Principado.
Location and competitive tariff. Handy for the stations (bus/train) and the many shopping and dining streets.
Oviedo must be the cleanest city in Spain. Based on lack of evidence of litter. Loved it.
Pretty much everything. The hotel was well located, very comfortable and clean, with good wifi. Really stellar breakfast with loads of choice and fresh food.
The parking was also really convenient.
We had an excellent time at Hotel Castro Real! The staff was friendly and the room was clean and spacious with nice views of the street below. Great location, too, near parks and restaurants!
Very nice staff, spoke English (not very common in this part of Spain)
Great location if you travel by public transport (just between train and bus station, close to restaurants etc)
